4 Arrested Following Armed Robbery of Juveniles at Chapel View Plaza

Cranston Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of four individuals tied to a robbery that took place more than a week ago at Chapel View Plaza.

According to Cranston Police, on April 14, officers responded to an armed robbery in Chapel View near Cold Stone Creamery.

Two juvenile victims told police they were confronted and robbed at gunpoint by a group of four males.

The victims, ages 14 and 16, stated they were approached by the suspects who demanded personal belongings, including designer shoes, a sweatshirt, and jewelry, according to Cranston Police.

During the robbery, one suspect brandished a firearm and threatened to shoot one of the victims.

The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, later identified as a ride-share operated by a registered driver.

 

About Arrests

Cranston Police said Wednesday following an investigation, that four suspects were identified and arrested:

• Jaemari Lucas, 20, of East Providence

• Jonathan Brito, 18, of Providence

• Helder Erben Martins, 18, of Woonsocket

• A fifteen-year-old male from Providence

“The safety of our community is paramount. Our officers acted swiftly and with great professionalism to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for these violent acts," said Chief of Police Colonel Michael Winquist. "We thank our partner agencies for their cooperation and urge any additional victims or witnesses to contact our department.”

Recovered items included high-value clothing and accessories, such as a Spider brand sweatshirt and Balenciaga sneakers, said police, who added that "one suspect was apprehended while wearing the stolen shoes."

The suspects face charges including:

• Robbery in the First Degree (2 counts)

• Conspiracy to Commit a Felony

Additional victims have since come forward, linking the same suspects to other robberies, said police.
