The coronavirus is proving to be as difficult a disease as public health experts have warned. Dr. Michael Fine, the former Rhode Island Director of Health calls the virus a "cruel taskmaster."

Rhode Island's reported deaths were lower on Sunday, but the number of new cases sparked back up to 285 and the total number of deaths in Rhode Island are now 422.

The vast majority of those deaths -- between 75% and 79% of all Rhode Island deaths -- are related to nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Rhode Island reports ranges of cases and deaths tied to nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

The Raimondo administration continues to refuse to release city and town data. Those numbers have not been updated since a GoLocal report unveiled Central Falls as having more cases per capita than New York City -- considered the nation's hot spot.
