In Rhode Island, Governor Gina Raimondo has ordered the closing of more businesses as the number of coronavirus cases continues to increase.

Democrats Block $1.8 Billion Stimulus Bill
"Senate Democrats blocked a massive coronavirus stimulus bill from moving forward Sunday as partisan disputes raged over the legislation that’s aimed at arresting the economy’s precipitous decline.
Lawmakers had hoped to pass the enormous $1.8 trillion bill by Monday but Sunday night they were scrambling to revive talks, with the stock market poised for another sharp drop and households and businesses fretting about an uncertain future."
Both Rhode Island Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse voted against moving the legislation on a procedural vote.
Reed tweeted, "Helping health workers, hospitals, the unemployed, small businesses & states is key. It’s time for Sen McConnell to tear up his $500B #TrumpSlushFund & put #WorkersFirst. Congress must do the right thing in the midst of a pandemic & put people & Main Street ahead of Wall Street."
Wall Street Futures
The failure to move the nearly $2 trillion emergency funding bill out of the U.S. Senate is expected to send stocks sharply lower on Monday morning.
At 6:00 AM on Monday morning the S&P Futures were pointing down 3%.
Fauci and Trump
In an interview with Science magazine, Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said, "To [President Trump’s] credit, even though we disagree on some things, he listens. He goes his own way. He has his own style. But on substantive issues, he does listen to what I say."
“I can’t jump in front of the microphone and push him down,” Fauci said, referencing Trump. “OK, he said it. Let’s try and get it corrected for the next time.”
Rhode Island's Pace
The pace of Rhode's Island's increase cases is troubling.
Last Monday, there were 19 cases in Rhode Island and by Sunday, the number had jumped to 83 -- a 336% increase.
Olympics Postponed?
More and more it looks like the Summer Olympics scheduled for July in Japan will be delayed.
Late on Sunday night, the CBC reported:
The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) say they won't send athletes to compete at the Tokyo Games — set to begin July 24 — if they proceed as scheduled.
Backed by the Athletes' Commissions, National Sport Organizations and the Government of Canada, the COC and CPC say they "made the difficult decision to not send Canadian teams to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in the summer of 2020."
