Top RI Criminal Defense Attorney Charged With 3 Counts

A top Rhode Island criminal defense attorney, Joseph Voccola, was arrested by Lincoln Police and charged with three counts tied to an incident that took place on Sunday.
He is a former State Representative — serving six terms from 1994 to 2006, representing Johnston.
According to court records, Lincoln Police charged Voccola with:
DUI of Liquor - Blood Alcohol Concentration Unknown - 1st Offense — misdemeanor
Obstructing Officer in Execution of Duty — misdemeanor
Possession of a Schedule I to V Controlled Substance 10 Grams or Less — misdemeanor

Voccola’s bio cites that he has been recognized with the Top 100 Registry of Business Leaders and Professionals. He's also a recipient of America’s Top 100 Lawyers Lifetime Achievement Award.
He graduated from Moses Brown School and has degrees from Boston University and the New England School of Law.
