In the first suspension, Kebba Njie, who has been licensed as a nursing assistant since May 24, 2016, was alleged to have engaged in unprofessional conduct, according to a RIDOH finding.
The RIDOH found in an investigation "that on or about January 4, 2023, and January 6, 2023, RIDOH received notices that Respondent sexually assaulted a patient on or about January 1, 2023, while providing care to her.”

Cocaine
In a separate incident, RIDOH suspended another nursing assistant for cocaine.
RIDOH said that on or about December 31, 2022, it received notice that Ebony Igle “admitted that items found on a table in a patient’s room consistent of a white powdery substance, a mirror, and a razor blade, did belong to her. Testing of the white powdery substance determined it to be cocaine.”
The incident took place at Grand Islander Center in Middletown. The nursing home states on its website, "We provide Alzheimer's/dementia care in a secure Homestead Unit; LongTerm, Palliative, Restorative and Pain Management Care; and intensive nursing and rehabilitative care for patients recovering from surgery or illness in our Transitional Care Unit. Grand Islander Center is the recipient of the American Health Care Association's Bronze, Silver and Gold Quality Awards.
