Black Friday Sets New Record for Gun Background Checks

According to the FBI, this year’s Black Friday saw more background checks for gun purchases that ever before.

The FBI reported that it processed about to background checks per second on Black Friday. That’s a total of 185,345 background checks. That figure broke the previous record, set on December 21, 2012 roughly a week after the Sandy Hook Elementary mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.
