The Blizzard known as Juno is bearing down on Rhode Island and Southern New England as we speak. Governor Raimondo has instituted a travel ban in the state, as have Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy and Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker.
There will be no mail delivery today, and all public and private schools have cancelled classes. All of Rhode Island’s colleges and universities have cancelled classes and activities today as well. RIPTA and the MBTA are not running.
Over 7000 flights have been cancelled along the east coast, and although TF Green Airport hasn’t officially closed, all flights since last night at 5:25pm have been cancelled.
Accumulations will continue to grow throughout the day and will finally wrap up late on Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.
GoLocalProv has put together a list of Five Things You Need to Know About Blizzard Juno. Check out the slides below.

Power Outages
Check our interactive outage map, courtesy of National Grid, to see where the power outages are. CLICK HERE to view.
Help- Getting and Giving
If you lose power, make sure to call National Grid. Don't assume someone else already has. 1 (800) 465-1212 is the number. DO NOT call 911 for a power outage.
If you want to volunteer to help dig people out after the snow stops, you can sign up with Serve Rhode Island HERE.
Don't Go Anywhere!
Governor Raimondo has instituted a travel ban, and the Governors of Connecticut and Massachusetts have done the same. Exemptions exist for health care workers and certain essential employees, but don't risk going out if you don't have to - you could be arrested if you do.
Snow Totals
You can find out the up to the minute snow totals for your area on the National Weather Service's Website, HERE.
What about Wednesday?
Some school systems have already begun cancelling schools for Wednesday. You can check out an updated list on our information partner NewsRadio 920's site, HERE.
