NEW: Board of Election Finds 208 Misplaced Ballots in Mattiello and Frias Race

According to officials, the Board of Election found 208 misplaced ballots during the official recount on Monday, after the recount had come up short that amount of votes.
"It appears that they were sealed and put into a bin the night of the election, probably the wrong precinct," said Board of Elections Vice-Chair Diane Mederos. "We didn't realize that happened until we were doing the recount -- and that's when luckily they were found and they had been sealed so no one had touched them in the interim."

"I'm pleased that the Board of Elections recount reaffirms our successful campaign to continue to represent the citizens of District 15 in Cranston," said Mattiello. "I look forward to a productive year with my colleagues in the House, and pledge to continue to work hard on issues of concern to my constituents, most notably reduction and eventual elimination of the onerous car tax."

This is just another strange twist in the race and another black eye for the Board of Election as the election was now nearly two weeks ago and the race has not been certified.
