BREAKING: Acting ProCAP Director Fires COO

Less than 48 hours after being appointed interim Executive Director of the Providence Community Action Program (ProCAP), Frank Shea has terminated the organization’s Chief Operating Officer William Bentley and its General Counsel Kurt Hayes.

The decision was made this morning, according to ProCAP spokesman Bill Fischer.

“Mr. Shea believes that to turn ProCAP around, a new management team needs to be brought on,” Fischer said. “On Monday, he will begin to assess the entire organization including personnel.”

Fischer declined to comment on whether more changes will be made.

On Wednesday, ProCAP’s board of directors voted unanimously to suspend Executive Director Frank Coribishley without pay after the state threatened to pull funding for the organization if changes weren’t made.
