GOP Congressional hopeful has conceded the race to incumbent David Cicilline.

“We worked very hard,” Doherty said. “And we left it on the field.”

Doherty thanked his campaign volunteers, noting it was the first time he had ever sought public office.

“It was a tough race and I have no regrets,” he said.
