McKee Announces Masking for Venues With More Than 250 People

Governor Dan McKee
Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee has announced tighter restrictions to combat the spread of COVID.

First, those going to venues that have a capacity of 250 will have to show proof of vaccination and those who are not vaccinated will be required to wear a mask.

For venues larger than 250, all attendees must be masked.

Office-based businesses — both public and private employers — with indoor operations must require masking or proof of vaccination.

The regulations go into effect on Monday.

McKee’s announcement is far more restrictive than what the governors of Massachusetts and Connecticut have announced — there are no indoor mask requirements in those states.
