New RI License Plate Design Unveiled

The new Rhode Island license plate design has been unveiled. 

Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee made the announcement on Wednesday at a press conference. 

According to McKee, nearly 300,000 votes were cast.

The winning design got 52% of the vote.

Latest in License Plates

In March, McKee's office announced it had narrowed down the 5 finalists for the new stock plate reissuance design.

It was up to the public to cast their votes for their favorite design to be selected. 

Voting period began Monday, March 14 and ended March 28.
