BREAKING NEWS: Hess Withdraws LNG Proposal

Hess has announced today that it is withdrawing its proposal to build a liquefied natural gas terminal in Mount Hope Bay.

Save the Bay, which fought the proposal, announced the news in e-mail this afternoon.

“While Hess is citing ‘market conditions’ as the reason for its decision, let it be remembered that [Save the Bay] started battling this 8 years ago, when the threat was serious and the market conditions were probably more favorable,” the group said.
