BREAKING: Providence City Hall Evacuated Due to Suspicious Package UPDATED

Providence City Hall was evacuated shortly before noon on Thursday due to a suspicious package. 

"Out of an abundance of caution, we evacuated the building," said Emily Crowell, spokesperson for Mayor Jorge Elorza. Crowell said authorities were investigating.

City Hall employees were seen waiting at the designated meeting spot across the street by the Alex and Ani Skating Rink.

All Clear Issued

According to Providence Police sources, an all-clear was issued soon after the evacuation.
