UPDATED Video Shows Providence Place Mall Evacuation

Providence Place Mall had an emergency evacuation at approximately 12:20 PM on Thursday.

Multiple Providence Fire Department vehicles are onsite at the Mall and the mall workers and shoppers have been evacuated.

According to firefighters that GoLocal spoke to onsite, the issue may be tied to a gas leak in the building. "They are tracking it down," said one firefighter.

One deliveryman who GoLocal spoke to said, “We were down there (in Macy's) we could smell gas all morning."

UPDATE: The Mall was reopened at approximately 1:15 PM.
