Chafee Orders Flags to Half Staff for Arizona Shooting

Governor Lincoln Chafee ordered flags to half staff on all public buildings until Jan. 14 out of respect and remembrance for a shooting in Tuscon, Arizona where Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was seriously injured.

“This was an unthinkable tragedy, one that has brought me and many Rhode Islanders great personal sadness,” Chafee said. “As a sign of respect for those killed and wounded in this act of violence, I have ordered flags on all public buildings lowered to half-staff until sunset on January 14. My thoughts are with the victims of this senseless attack.”
