Conference Calls for Cutting Poverty in Half

The conference focused on the “many faces of poverty.”
The morning featured a study on Prophetic Leadership, looking at the thoughts and wisdom of Rabbi Abraham Heschel, a civil rights leader of the 1960’s. The conference also included a panel discussion with the directors of the state’s health and human service agencies as well as Secretary Steven Costintino.

The mission of the Rhode Island Interfaith Coalition is to fight poverty with faith. The group aims to cut poverty in half within the next 10 years.
