Councilor Anthony Files Lawsuit After "Being Dragged Under Vehicle and Breaking 22 Ribs"

The incident took place on June 10, 2023; the lawsuit was filed on December 14.
The lawsuit by Anthony states, “I was in intensive care for 18 days and remained in California for weeks to undergo surgery and rehabilitation.”

The Carmel Pine Cone reports, “‘Based on a review of the video recording of the incident captured by Point Lobos surveillance cameras, 'It is not clear that Mrs. Anthony had the right of way, but that [the driver] Mr. Arnold failed to stop or control the vehicle before striking, running over and dragging Mrs. Anthony underneath the vehicle for some distance.'"
Further, according to the paper the suit claims, “[Anthony] alleges negligence and loss of consortium and is seeking an unspecific amount in monetary damages exceeding $25,000. Anthony said she also suffered economic and noneconomic damages, including physical and mental suffering, anxiety, emotional distress and loss of enjoyment of life.”
Anthony returned to participating in City Council activities in October.
By profession, Anthony is an attorney.
