Deadly Motorcycle Crash -- RI State Police Investigating

The Rhode Island State Police announces that a 30-year-old Rhode Island man died after his motorcycle crashed into the median on the southbound lane of Route 4 in the Town of East Greenwich on Friday afternoon.

State officials identified the victim as Derek LeBlanc of Warwick, Rhode Island.

State Troopers received a report of a motorcycle crash at approximately 4:40 p.m. on Route 4 South, north of Route 2 (South County Trail).

According to the State Police, LeBlanc lost control of the motorcycle.

LeBlanc was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
