New York Congressman-elect George Santos has been exposed as a liar.

A really big liar. He lied about his education, his work experience, and even his religion.

He lied in order to be elected.

He should be denied a seat in Congress. But, he likely won’t be.

It is not a matter of party or ideology, but rather a matter of blatant subterfuge.

Closer to home, newly elected Congressman Seth Magaziner has played his own game of smoke and mirrors -- and duck-and-weave.

At some point, someone gave Magaziner $800,000 to fund his first campaign for office. It appears to have been in 2013 or 2014 when he first ran for Rhode Island General Treasurer.

For more than eight years, Magaziner has repeatedly refused to disclose the source of the funds. The money transferred to Magaziner then became the source of $800,000 he "loaned" his campaign.

His campaign paid him back about $100,000 and his state campaign account now owes a soon-to-be member of Congress about $700,000.

Magaziner has admitted that the money was not his but has repeatedly refused to answer questions about the source of the money.

Instead, Magaziner simply says that his family just happens to be rich.

It is possible that the funding may have been from a third party with an interest in the activities in the Treasurer’s office, and the source of the funds may have profited as a result.

Further, this financing of his campaign may have been illegal.

The lack of disclosure is simply not acceptable.

Santos is a big liar.

Magaziner is a little hider.
