A 9-year-old girl was kidnapped and sexually assaulted and the Mayor did not show up for the press conference. What Mayor would not attend that press conference to give comfort to the family and allay fears of parents throughout the city?
Murders, shootings, a mother holding her baby being shot — no word from the Mayor.

Bikers and residents have been injured over and over again.
Sunday, 300 bikers raced through neighborhoods, drove down sidewalks, and blew through red lights.
Then, more tragedy. One of the bikers crashed and is now in serious condition — did the Providence Police have a role in the crash? An investigation is going to take weeks.
The reason this has built and built over the years is because this Mayor has allowed it to happen. Every police officer will tell you that there is a de facto no-chase order in place regardless of Commissioner Steven Paré's absurd claim.
Elorza’s lack of effort, leadership, and attention has been consistent — consistently poor.
On Monday, after the injury, Elorza finally showed for a press conference.
Did he say anything of value? Of course not.
The fact that he even showed any interest was an amazing achievement.
Is it time to take the Mayor’s image off the milk cartons? Not so fast.
Elorza owns this tragedy — he owns it 100%.
