Two Changes

This year, GoLocal made two significant changes in Election 2022 coverage.

For the first time, we endorsed candidates. We interviewed and analyzed the candidates, and to ensure the highest level of independence, we did not accept political advertising -- a major financial sacrifice, but we thought it was important for our first time conducting endorsements.

We endorsed both Democrats and Republicans.

Here is who we endorsed and are rationale.

Governor

Lt. Governor

Secretary of State

General Treasurer

Attorney General

Second Congressional District

Political Profiles

Candidates had the opportunity to express their views unedited on the biggest issues. See the list of political profiles at the bottom of this article.

Money, Money, Money v. McKee

If you think you have seen a lot of anti-McKee ads:

Republican Ashley Kalus has spent just under $5 million — $4.7 million comes from her and her husband in the form of a loan.

Helena Foulkes spent more than $4 million in her battle against Mckee in the Democratic primary.

And, add another $2 million spent by Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea

More than $10 million was spent this cycle to try and unseat McKee.
