“Rhode Island’s housing market remains steady heading into the last quarter of the year. Low-interest rates are definitely keeping potential buyers in the game,” said Dean deTonnancourt, President of the statewide Realtor Association, at the beginning of November.

Third-quarter results on the East Side of Providence saw sales increase 19% over the previous year, but the average price drop 2.55%. And days on the market dramatically increased from 28 days in the third quarter of 2018 to 46 days in 2019 -- an increase of 64%.

In the rest of the city, Providence was a slight increase year-over-year in the third quarter 2.5%.

“The Nathan Seamans House is listed in the Library of Congress,” said Kira Greene with The Greene | Sweeney Team at Residential Properties, LTD, of the historic home at 15 Arnold Street. “Seamans was known to be a distiller and the story goes that George Washington himself may have had some of his whiskey.”

“The tale is memorialized on the beautiful dining room mural, [where] Washington is standing outside the front porch getting his shot glass filled!”
