Gas Prices Finally Go Down

Gas prices are down two cents this week, breaking a five-week trend in price increases, according to AAA Southern New England.

A January 31 survey found the current average for self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline to be $3.17, down from $3.19, but still eight cents above the national average. Prices ranged from $3.09 to $3.29.

This time last year, Rhode Island's average price was $2.72.
