GoLocalProv will announce its selection for Woman and Man of the Year. The editors and reporters reviewed those who had the most impact on Rhode Island in the year 2011 and selected one of each gender.

Each made their mark and helped to define the year. Their impact was pronounced and defining.

This was not a popularity contest nor were the selections necessarily the best known - the selection was based on their impact for the year.

The greatness of Rhode Island is often lost, the talent often overlooked and our flaws examined under microscopes - even GoLocal's. Our selection for Woman and Man of the Year may delight or aggravate. We look forward to Rhode Island's reaction—unveiled Saturday, December 24th.
