A jackknifed tractor-trailer truck snarled traffic on Rt. 95 south Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred by the Providence Place Mall and state offices exits.

According to RISP:
At approximately 8:05 AM, the Lincoln Woods Barracks investigated a motor vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer and four vehicles on Route 95 South, south of the Route 6 West ramp (Exit 22 A, B, C), in the City of Providence.
The tractor-trailer first struck a vehicle in the rear, then sideswiped another vehicle before veering to the left and striking the high-speed barrier.
The tractor-trailer then traveled towards the right, struck two additional vehicles and the right barrier before coming to rest across all lanes of travel.
All vehicles involved were towed, including the tractor-trailer, and four (4) operators were transported to Rhode Island Hospital with complaints of pain.
The highway was closed for approximately 2 hours for investigation and clean-up.
