Joe Shekarchi Wins Warwick State Rep. Race

Democrat Joseph Shekarchi has defeated Republican opponent John Falkowski in the House District 23 race to replace Robert Flaherty.

Shekarchi, who managed General Treasurer Gina Raimondo’s campaign in 2010, is considered a rising star in the Democratic Party. The first-time candidate has more than $75,000 in his campaign account.

Falkowski was considered a solid candidate by Republicans, but was unable to overcome a significant financial disadvantage.
