Kavanaugh Sworn in as Supreme Court Justice Saturday

Republican Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) was not present at the vote because he was attending his daughter's wedding. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK), who broke with her party on Friday who voted against advancing (against a cloture motion to end Senate debate) Kavanaugh's nomination, voted "present."
Late on Saturday, Kavanaugh was sworn in as the 102nd Associate Justice of the Supreme Court on October 6, 2018. Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr., administered the Constitutional Oath and retired Associate Justice Anthony M. Kennedy administered the Judicial Oath in a private ceremony later today in the Justices’ Conference Room at the Supreme Court. Both oaths were administered so that he can begin to participate in the work of the Court immediately, according to the Supreme Court release.
