GoLocalProv visited Saint Pius V Elementary School in Providence, the polling place for District 1 and 2, in the city’s 5th Ward, where Providence mayoral candidate Chris Young had reportedly been acting erratically shortly after noon today. Multiple witnesses reported Young was screaming and yelling along with fiancé and republican candidate for both Lieutenant Governor and Congress in District 1, Kara Russo, claiming a handicapped-accessible voting machine had been removed from the site. Poll workers inside the church basement, considerably removed from street level, said they hear Young outside, shouting and carrying on. The workers said they heard from voters Young was “harassing” them and trying to block voters from entering the building. Donna Vogel, a volunteer with the Lombardi campaign, witnessed the event unfold.
