Man Dies After Fall from Providence Place Mall Garage

A local man plummeted to his death from the Providence Place Mall garage earlier today, according to Providence police.

The 43-year-old man, who is a Providence resident, fell onto Park Street between Promenade and Hayes streets at 1:24 p.m. this afternoon, according to police Capt. James Desmarais. He declined to release the man's name until family members could be notified.

Police are not investigating the incident as a homicide, according to Desmarais. He said there was "nothing suspicious" about the incident.
