Man Goes on Rampage in Downtown Providence Smashing Windows and Threatening People With Machete

Rampage took place at 100 Westminster and the Arcade
A man was arrested at the historic Arcade in Providence on Monday after smashing the windows of Paolino Properties -- the home of the U.S. Attorney and Providence Equity Group.

The exclusive GoLocal video shows a man throwing chairs through the windows at 100 Westminster Street.

After smashing the windows he crossed the street and according to a witness, who requested not to be identified by name, said the man had a machete.

Providence police tasered the man and took him into custody. 

Providence Police have confirmed the incident.

The man arrested is Wilfred Catlin, age 33.

UPDATE: former Providence Mayor Joe Paolino, the head of Paolino Properties tells GoLocal he believes crime in Providence is "out of control" and he will be making a public announcement on Wednesday morning.
