Man Reportedly Assaulted, Robbed on College Hill Monday Evening

A man was reportedly assaulted — and robbed — on College Hill in Providence on Monday evening.

About Incident

According to police, shortly after 7 PM on Monday, they responded to Pratt Street for a report of an assault.

Upon arrival, police met with the victim — a male — who said he had been walking a short time earlier when he was assaulted and robbed at the intersection of Bowen and Prospect Streets. 

Police say the victim told them he was on Prospect when he saw two males walking toward him -- one he said punched him in the face, and the other pushed him to the ground. 

According to the victim, he was pinned to the ground as the suspects took his belongings, including his wallet and phone. 

The victim told police the suspects then got into a silver SUV and fled. 

Detectives are currently investigating.
