Man Shot Leaving Providence Bar Sunday Morning

Providence Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning outside of a bar in the city.

Shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to a report of a man being shot outside of the Sports Tap at 415 Harris Avenue.

Upon arrival, police found a male victim who had been shot several times, who told police he was struck while leaving the bar. 

He was unable to provide a description of the suspect. 

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital. 

Police said that several shell casings were located and processed at the scene. 

 

Weekend Violence

The gun violence comes after Providence police confiscated a revolver with an “obliterated serial number” following a fight outside of the Foxy Lady early Saturday morning. 

In addition, police responded to a residence that reported being shot at multiple times over a period of two days.
