National Weather Service Warns of More Flooding Through Tuesday

The National Weather Service is warning that constant rain Tuesday is expected to cause more flooding in Rhode Island.

Here is the NWS Flood Watch and the forecast moving forward.

FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be

  possible.

 

* WHERE...Portions of northern Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, including the following areas, in northern Connecticut,  Hartford CT, Tolland CT and Windham CT. In Massachusetts, Central Middlesex MA, Eastern Essex MA, Eastern Hampden MA, Eastern Norfolk MA, Eastern Plymouth MA, Northern Bristol MA, Northern Middlesex MA, Northern Worcester MA, Southeast Middlesex MA, Southern Bristol MA, Southern Plymouth MA, Southern Worcester MA, Suffolk MA, Western Essex MA, Western Norfolk MA and Western Plymouth MA. In Rhode Island, Block Island RI, Bristol RI, Eastern Kent RI, Newport RI, Northwest Providence RI, Southeast Providence RI, Washington RI and Western Kent RI.

 

* WHEN...Through Tuesday afternoon.

Showers. High near 68. East wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Tuesday Night

A chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 61. Northeast wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Wednesday

A chance of showers, mainly before 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. Northeast wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday Night

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. Northeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Thursday

Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Northeast wind 6 to 9 mph.

Thursday Night

Mostly clear, with a low around 57. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
