2-Alarm Fire Rips Through Building in Silver Lake, Firefighters Make Rescue

A fire ripped through a multi-unit building on Plainfield Street overnight.

City Council President Sabina Matos was at the scene Thursday morning as Providence Firefighters were still on hand after putting out the blaze. 

“We had a devastating 2 alarm fire in Silver Lake overnight,” said Matos.

“Thank you to the Providence Fire Fighters for their heroic efforts in getting everyone out with no loss of life,” she added. 

According to WJAR, one person had to be rescued from the building. 

Providence Firefighters posted a video of the blaze to their Facebook page.
