NEW: 38-Year-Old Female Pedestrian Killed By Pickup Truck on Sunday

The East Providence Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash which occurred on Sunday, July 14, at approximately 12:20 a.m.

The crash occurred on Warren Avenue, just west of its intersection with Broadway.

The pedestrian woman, Jennifer Cabral, 38, of 27 Lyon Ave. East Providence, was struck by a pickup truck while crossing Warren Avenue.

Cabral was initially treated at the scene by the East Providence Fire Department and then she was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

She died several hours later from the injuries she sustained in the incident.

The operator of the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

Speed and alcohol on the part of the pickup truck operator are not suspected. The crash is being investigated by the East Providence Police Traffic Unit. The investigation is ongoing.
