The Rhode Island Department of Health announced 45 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, marking nearly 100 new cases in two days.

Currently, there have been 17,312 positive cases in the state — and 253,472 total negative tests.

There were two additional coronavirus-related deaths reported, for a total of 976 in Rhode Island to date.

According to the state, there are 61 current hospitalizations, with 4 people in ICU and 5 of ventilators.

Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo and officials will be LIVE at 1 PM on Friday.

Raimondo then moves to one press conference a week — to take place every Wednesday.
