ACI Hit With as Many 90 Coronavirus Cases This Week, 53 in Max Security
And, the Department of Corrections has as many as 90 new cases for the week according to two sources with direct knowledge.
“Just like the rest of the State, we are also experiencing an increase in the number of positive cases in our Maximum-Security facility. Surveillance testing revealed around fifty new positives in that facility,” said J.R. Ventura, Chief of Information & Public Relations Officer.

“The facility has been placed in a restrictive movement schedule for everyone’s safety, and we continue to follow our strict safety health protocols to mitigate the spread of the virus. We are very prepared to address these types of events. Our medical department is working closely with the Department of Health, following their guidelines and making sure we keep a tight control on areas which may have been exposed. We are continuing to monitor the situation in all of our secured facilities. We wish everyone a speedy recovery,” he added.
Rhode Island had a record number of new cases reported on Thursday — 936 — and the number of daily new cases has more than doubled in just 8-days.
