NEW: Chafee Budget Unveiled Tonight

Governor Lincoln Chafee is set to unveil his first budget tonight—and the controversial one percent sales tax is reportedly expected to be a part of it.

Chafee will speak before the General Assembly at 7 p.m. The 25-minute address will be broadcast live on local television stations. GoLocalProv will also have reaction from state leaders and policymakers.

The budget address, titled “Path to Prosperity,” will hit a number of major themes, according to the Governor’s office, including:
