NEW: Coronavirus Cases Jump 412 in One Day in RI, 8 More Fatalities

Rhode Island saw for the second day in a week the highest number of COVID-19 cases in one day.

According to the Rhode Island Department of Health data, the state had 412 new positive cases, for a totally now of 6,256.

Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo is expected to announce on Thursday the closure of Rhode Island schools for the rest of the year.

There were 8 deaths linked to COVID-19 bringing the total to 189. 

Currently, there are 267 hospitalizations with 72 in the ICU and 45 on ventilators.
