NEW: Dancing Cop Lepore to Take Part in Newport St. Patrick's Day Parade
Lepore, who was turned down by the Elorza administration for holiday work following the Dunkin' Donuts #BlackLivesMatter controversy and then backed out of performing in East Providence due to opposition, said he has participated in Newport for "five or six years."
"After the parade I perform at the town's Rec Department and perform a dancing cop show with the kids. I carry police hats and steering wheels and talk about myself and show them all my moves and I get them up and direct them all over. At the end we do a Cha cha slide. Then I sign autograph photos, give out Dancing Cop Deputy sticker badges and mustaches," said Lepore.

The 60th Annual Newport, Rhode Island Saint Patrick's Day Parade will be held "rain, snow, or shine "on Saturday March 12.
The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. at Newport City Hall and proceeds to Carroll Avenue at Saint Augustin’s Church in the heart of the Fifth Ward.
The parade this year is estimated to last 2 hours and will include "Pipe Bands, Marching Bands, Fife & Drum Corps, Clown Units, reenactment units, and a host of local, state, and regional organizations including police and fire units, social/fraternal organizations, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Schools, and non-profits".
