RI Coronavirus Infection Rate Nearly 10% - 18 More Deaths
RI Governor Gina RaimondoThe Rhode Island Department of Health on Tuesday reported 1,183 new COVID-19 cases.
The state now has a 9.4% infection rate and that includes the asymptomatic testing which have sub-one percent infection rates.
There were 18 fatalities reported, bringing the state's total to 1,760.

Hospitalizations rose to 423, up from 412 on Monday.
Of those, 55 are in the ICU, with 46 on ventilators.

As GoLocal reported on Tuesday, Rhode Island now has the 4th highest cases per capita in the U.S.
Rhode Island has the highest level of infection per capita in New England and 20% higher than the next closest state, Massachusetts.
Last week, Rhode Island had dropped out of the top ten -- it is now back in the top five.
