NEW: Judge Taft-Carter Won't Recuse Herself From Pension Lawsuit

Taft-Carter heard arguments from both sides today, but did not rule on the state’s request to dismiss to suit entirely. The state had also requested that Taft-Carter removed herself from the hearing, but she declined. The State Supreme Court on Thursday said it would not block Taft-Carter from hearing the case.
The public employees plan to argue that the pension reform bill signed into law by Governor Lincoln Chafee last year was unconstitutional.
