UPDATED: Man Dies Following Stabbing in Providence, Suspect Charged -- City's 16th Homicide of Year

GET THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS HERE -- SIGN UP FOR GOLOCAL FREE DAILY EBLASTAccording to police, the victim -- Kenneth McClain -- was reportedly stabbed by his roommate Marcus Huffman Jones on the night of August 16 during an argument.
The incident took place on Superior Street in Providence.
McClain, who had been in critical care at the hospital, died on August 21. Jones is being charged with homicide and is being held at the ACI.
Jones is the son of former police officer Marcus Huffman, who was convicted of first-degree sexual assault for the March 2007 rape of a woman he picked up outside a Providence nightclub while on duty. In 2010, Huffman was sentenced to forty years in prison.
Jones was previously arrested in 2016 on gun-related charges.
