NEW: Man Shot at Whole Foods at University Heights on East Side of Providence

A man in his 20s was shot outside of Whole Foods in Providence at University Heights on Wednesday afternoon. 

According to a Providence Police Department source, the man was shot in his ankle in what was believed to have been a possible robbery shortly after 4 p.m.

The victim was transported to Rhode Island Hospital; there is no information on a suspect this time.

The victim is refusing to cooperate, according to Providence police. 

The shooting, which occurred in the parking lot, saw police find bullet fragments dispersed as far as Staples.
