NEW: Marriage Equality Group Endorses 19 Candidates

Fight Back RI, the political action committee formed by Marriage Equality Rhode Island, has endorsed 19 Democratic candidates ahead of Tuesday’s primary.

On the House side, the group is supporting Chris Blazejewski (District 2), Libby Kimzey (District 8), Grace Diaz (District 11), Joe Almeida (District 12), Art Handy (District 18), Jon Restivo (District 40), Peter Petrarca (District 44), Michael Morin (District 49), J. Patrick O’Neill (District 59), Charles Tsonas (District 63), Gregg Amore (District 65) and Marvin Abney (District 73).

In the Senate, Adam Satchell (District 9), Roberto DaSilva (District 14), Ryan Pearson (District 19), Lewis Pryeor (District 24), Gene Dyszlewski (District 26), Laura Pisaturo (District 29) and Dave Gorman (District 33) picked up endorsements.

Only five candidate receiving endorsements are incumbents.

Marriage Equality supporters have made it no secret that they plan focus on Senate races as they attempt to push for a same-sex marriage bill next session.

House Speaker Gordon Fox has already pledged to force a vote in his chamber.
