NEW: Moreau Sentenced to Two Years in Federal Prison

Moreau, the former Mayor of Central Falls, was sentenced today to two years behind bars as well as a $25K fine and a total of 300 hours of community service for the three years following his release.
Moreau, who stepped down from his position in September, had sought a reduced sentence of 21 months but U.S. District Court Judge John J. McConnell declined, citing the former mayor’s betrayal of the public’s trust.
