Mother of Two Children Who Died in 2020 Providence House Fire Charged With Manslaughter

The mother of two children who died in a house fire in Providence in 2020 has been indicted on manslaughter charges, GoLocal has learned. 

Ingrid Sandoval is facing two counts of manslaughter for the deaths of her two and seven-year-old children. 

Police said they believe Sandoval was not home at the time of the fire.

"Providence Police announced Wednesday they were informed that the 2-year-old victim of the recent fatal house fire on Lucy Street, Allison Sandoval, succumbed to her injuries.

The origin and cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The three-alarm fire ripped through the multi-family house off Atwells Avenue on December 22. 

According to fire officials, approximately 60 Providence Firefighters were on scene due to the size of the blaze.

A seven-year-old girl died as a result of injuries; Sandoval was in critical condition before ultimately passing."
