NEW: Nathan Bishop Graduation Ceremony Back On

Following communications last week from the Principal of Nathan Bishop Middle School in Providence to parents stating that traditional graduation exercises would be replaced with an in-school "Celebration Day" barbecue for qualifying students, the school has changed course to have its traditional promotional exercises.

Principal Kimberly Luca had informed parents last week that students who met citizenship and academic requirements would be given a “Celebration Day” instead of the traditional promotional exercises.

PTO President Kim Rohm then reached out to parents, who had began voicing their opinion on the change, to let them know that traditional graduation activities would take place as they had in the past.

Message from PTO President

Families,

I have been asked by Principal Luca to advise you that the eighth grade promotional exercises WILL take place as they have in the past.  Further information will be sent home to families as soon as possible.

In addition, Principal Luca will hold a meeting at the school for parents/guardians on Wednesday, June 10 at 4:30 p.m. to answer any questions that they may have.

Thank you.
