NEW: Peter Pan Bus Driver Will Not Be Charged in Kennedy Plaza Fatality

The Providence Police Department announced Thursday that it has concluded its investigation into the Peter Pan bus fatality that occurred in Kennedy Plaza on August 24 -- and that no charges resulted.

30-year-old Michelle Cagnon of Cumberland was stuck and killed by a Peter Pan Bus while trying to cross the street in Providence's Kennedy Plaza just after 8 a.m.

After an extensive investigation and reconstruction of the Peter Pan bus fatality which occurred in Kennedy Plaza, there will be no criminal charges brought against the bus driver, Matthew J. Reidy of Taunton, Massachusetts

On August 24th at approximately 8:15 a.m. Michelle Cagnon, age 30 of Cumberland, was struck by a bus being operated by Reidy while she was walking easterly on Washington Street in Kennedy Plaza.  Cagnon died as a result of her injuries and was pronounced at the scene. The RI Attorney General’s Office assisted Providence Police with this investigation.
